With the engine ready after many hours of polishing the cases and painting the cyl and head, it was also time to get the exhaust cleaned up. The Muffler is a standard Metralla part, but the header pipe is specific to the El Tigre, so it is very rare and not easily replaced. This one was in pretty good shape with nice chrome but a few dents and dings. The heat shield is also pretty much unobtainable. I had to take a few dents out of this one and repaint it, but all in all, it was in pretty good shape.

After installing the engine, it was time to run the cables and wiring, which included a new solid state mag/ignition. All the wires tuck up pretty nicely under the tank so it really looks just like the original system unless you are looking really hard.
