Ducati Diavel… “evil, like the devil”

Ducati has leaked a teaser photo of their new power cruiser bike and sure enough, I’m teased… I’m thinking that this is a good move for them since the average age of motorcyclists is increasing every year and the people who have the money to buy things like Ducati’s tend to be older- and thus not interested in superbikes. Being in that “older” age group myself, I’m really looking forward to the details on this bike which will be coming at the EICMA show in November… From Autoblog-

As far as specs, here’s what we know so far: ABS, Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Riding Modes that alter power output and delivery will at least be available, if not standard. Power will come from the Testastretta 11-degree engine as seen in the Multistrada, and the Diavel will weigh 456 pounds.

And what of the name? According to Ducati, when the prototype was first wheeled out of the factory, a worker saw its silhouette and exclaimed in Bolognese dialect: “Ignurànt comm’ al diavel!” Meaning: “Evil, like the devil!”
