Endurance races are great for the sport, but they aren’t all that fun to watch- especially an 8 hour race. Maybe if you tune in at the end and can figure out where everyone is and what lap they are on it might be fun to watch the finish. But they do separate the men from the boys and really show who has the best hardware. So I guess it is significant that BMW won the inaugural event. BMW actually does a lot of racing in other parts of the world, but you don’t see them too much in the US. Anytime we get some new blood in the sport, it is good for everyone. Suzuki did well in both classes with the SV1000 and the SV650.

The San Jose BMW team made history at Daytona Saturday, winning a dramatic Inaugural 8 Hours At Daytona. The race was the first event in the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series.  Speed has all the details here
