Kenny Roberts Jr. lead the pace on Friday with a best time of 1:23.859 which was considerably faster than the rest of the field by MotoGP standards. All the racers complained about how bumpy the newly repaved track is- which makes it tough to tune the suspension. Nicky Hayden had the 2nd quickest lap at 1:24.125.
