Tesla.jpgWired has an article up on the new Tesla electric sports car. Powered by 6800 Lithium-Ion batteries, it goes 0-60 in under 4 sec and has a top speed of 130mph. It really is worth reading because the car is being built by Lotus and the company execs and capital venture people are all from Silicon Valley. So we have, perhaps a huge paradigm shift in the auto industry (or a tiny part of the auto industry, at least).

Back to the original question- is it possible or even desirable to develop an electric powered sportbike or cruiser? There would be no exhaust noise or vibration- which seems to be an integral part of the motorcycle experience. Plus it would likely use a CVT vs a traditional gearbox. Would the fun be gone?
