The FZ1 Retro 80's project
The story begins with a stock Yamaha FZ1 that was dinged and scratched during transport.
This is the perfect bike for a custom paint job. Soon we will have something that no one else has-

Next we layout the stripes on the bike. This is pretty time consuming since there is a lot of trial and error to get the angles you want, thicknesses and transitions.

She isn't all that pretty with her clothes off...

Next, every part is cleaned, sanded and primed with white epoxy primer.

Now, we paint the yellow basecoat- Viper Yellow

The templates we made were sent to Tapeworks where they did their magic and created custom printed vinyl graphics that we can clearcoat over.
Everything is clearcoated... The graphics look painted on after they are cleared.
Reassembly begins- the tank and front fender are installed.
The tail and upper are reinstalled-
Finally, the trim panels, seat and radiator guards are installed.

Finished product- something no one else has. It makes the stock FZ1 look pretty boring.
